Privacy Policy

Posey, by JoCoding, Inc. Last updated 15 September 2026.

Posey has no accounts. You never tell it who you are, and it never asks. This page describes everything the app and this website actually do with data, written from the code rather than from a template.

Your photos stay on your device

Posey shows a live camera preview with a pose guide drawn on top. The camera image is used to draw that preview and to take a photo when you press the shutter. It is never recorded, never uploaded, and never sent anywhere.

Photos you take are written to your own photo library on your device. Posey does not copy them, back them up, or transmit them. If you use the in-app gallery, Posey reads your library only to display it on screen.

The pose guide is drawn on the screen and is never part of the saved photo.

What leaves your device

Four things, and nothing else:

  1. Feedback you choose to send. If you send feedback from inside the app, we receive the text you typed, plus your app version, device model and language, and a random identifier created when you installed the app (not your name, not your Apple Account, not an advertising identifier). Deleting the app forgets it permanently.
  2. Purchases. If you buy Posey Pro, Apple processes the payment. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, records that an anonymous install bought it, so the app can tell that it is unlocked and restore it on your other devices. We never see your payment details.
  3. Advertising. Free users can watch an ad to remove a watermark. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives your device's advertising identifier and standard request information. What it may do with that depends on the choices described below.
  4. This website. See the last section.

Tracking, and your choice

Before showing any ad, Posey asks you two questions: Google's consent form where the law requires one, and then Apple's Allow Posey to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites?

If you answer Ask App Not to Track, Posey does not use your advertising identifier and Google serves non-personalised ads. Nothing else in the app changes — the same features, the same free allowance. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Children

Posey is not directed at children, and we tell Google's consent framework the same thing.

How long anything is kept

Feedback is kept until it has been read and acted on, and no longer than two years. Website counts are aggregate numbers with nothing identifying in them and are kept indefinitely. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat for as long as the purchase is valid, which for a lifetime unlock is indefinitely.

Your rights

There is no account to delete, and deleting the app removes the only identifier linking you to feedback you sent. If you want feedback you sent removed before then, email us with roughly when you sent it and we will find and delete it.

This website

We count page views by day and by the campaign tag in the link you followed. That is a counter, not a profile: no IP addresses, no cookies from us, nothing that identifies a visitor. We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read; you can block it with any content blocker and the site works exactly the same.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, the change will appear here with a new date before it takes effect.
